But for now, here's Leiva and " Sincericidio" ...
My favourite cartoon character, Mafalda, has quite a few obsessions that crop up again and again. You've already seen the whole "chess" business ...well, a fraction of it. And another of them is " El Mundo" in the shape of a huge globe. She talks to it a lot ..... sometimes she even leaves messages on it .. .... here's a typical example of a Mafalda-Globe interaction ... ... and here they are again ... this is a three-framer ... There's plenty more of these global interactions .... and plenty of other obsessions as well. But for now, here's Leiva and " Sincericidio" ...

Well, the title and picture promised you a set of instructions for building a house.... a sort of " flat-pack" list of what you need to do, and what things you will need. So ... here we go .. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, that's all very well.... but where did that handy list come from ? I have changed a few words here and there, which would have made it too easy to work out. I've converted some of the measurements into more understandable units, for one thing. But I think it would all work out if you went ahead and built it.. plus, I'm going to show you what all that was, and where it came from, after the music etc. And here indeed is the music ...brought to you by El Sueño de Morfeo .. " Para todo la vida"...... ... and a words video too .. And you shall make for the tabernacle tablets of acacia wood, that are upright.
The length of each board shall be ten cubits, and the width of each board a cubit and a half. Two posts will have each table, locked with each other; So you shall make all the boards of the tabernacle. And thou shalt make the boards of the tabernacle: twenty boards by the south side, by the south. And thou shalt make forty sockets of silver under the twenty tables; two sockets under the one board for its two tenons, and two sockets under the other board for its two tenons. And on the other side of the tabernacle, on the north side, twenty boards; And his forty sockets of silver: two sockets under one board, and two sockets under the other board. And for the side of the tabernacle, to the west, you shall make six tablets. And you shall make two boards for the corners of the tabernacle in the two back angles; And they shall be joined together below, and they shall be joined together by their height to one hinge: so shall it be of the other two which shall be at the two corners. So there will be eight boards, with their silver bases, sixteen bases; two bases below the one table, and two bases below the other table. And you shall make five bars of acacia wood, for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle, And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the other side of the tabernacle, which is on the west side. And the middle bar will pass through the boards, from one end to the other. And thou shalt overlay the tables of gold, and make their rings of gold, to put the bars in them: thou shalt also overlay the bars of gold. And you shall lift up the tabernacle according to its design which was shown to you on the mount. [ Other versions are available] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Obviously, I couldn't keep "tabernacle" in there or it would be obvious where it came from. Nor " cubits" either. And "quicios" got changed to posts. And here's where I got the idea from ... ¡Qué milagro ! ... I've found a words video for the beautiful Vetusta Morla song " ¡Alto !" ¡Alto!
La lluvia artificial nos sigue intoxicando Huelen el metal del aire envenenado Yo guardo la fe Tú encuentra el milagro One intriguing feature of that song is the seemingly shifting time signature ... if you try tapping along to it, you'll find the phrasing shifts around. It would be interesting too see the music written down. VM does this quite a bit ... Al Respirar works in the a similar way... just try tapping along to that. Naturally, I've put it in my collection of VM words videos which is growing steadily... here it is, at the end of this link ... spanish-lyrics-videos-vetusta-morla.html Here's some instructions .... but rather odd ones when you read through them ... Whilst you're wondering what those instructions were really about before I mucked about with them, here's Los Planetas .. " El Espritiu De La Navidad" You have probably guessed that those instructions were not originally about ears at all ... and you're right. They were actually about zapatos !
But me being me, I simply swapped ears for shoes and tweaked a few other things to finish up with what you got up there ... much more fun. There's plenty of scope for more of that sort of thing .... oh yes. I've chosen some really short and snappy ones this time ... ± 30 s or so . I hope they will be Terrific for Your Spanish. Short, snappy, funny, packed with incident, tension, drama and beautiful people and wonderful weather. By the way ... ...cars weren't anything like this one back when I was young. I hired one recently and it was more like a tank full of computers.... No mention of all the calories and additives in this next one. Eating out wasn't like this back in my day !! We didn't have glue like this when I was young either. But there were more gorillas. This one's good for your imperatives .... but we didn't have toys like when when I were a lad. This musical one is all about getting back to school. Infant school wasn't anything like this back when I went. .. and now .... music. Today we're being serenaded by some young people called Maryland and " La caleta del sol" .... and I can't help mentioning that we had none of this sort of thing back in my younger days. My friend at school Ronald had a harmonica, but our maths teacher, a rather large, tetchy person, took it off him, threw it onto the floor and jumped on it several times. Yes, it was proper school in those days. Happy times ! We had to make our own maps back in those days.
Here's a jumbled-up collection of Spanish adverts I've collected in odd moments over the last few days .... funny ones, celebrity ones, daft ones .... and all Terrific For Your Spanish ... Jennifer Lopez ! Shakira !! Coca Cola !!! Mimosin !! ...a drippy one this ... Well... after all that commercialism and hard.. or soft... sell .... here's Vetusta Morla with a words video for " Puntos Suspensivos" ... Of course, I've put that in with my ever-growing collection of VM words videos .... which you can find at the other end of this handy link ...
spanish-lyrics-videos-vetusta-morla.html and ... if you wants the words right there on the page ... here they are .. |
