Ultraghost is a really neat game ... even before I knew it was an official game with a name and instructions I used to do it with car number plates. I thought it was my own invention... but as is so often the case, it wasn't.
But what is a "ghost" ..... well, here's a complete word .... REGALO
If we knock some of the letters out, like rotten teeth, we might finish up with ...
RGO or EGL or RO or GAO or lots of other possibilities.
Those little "remains" of a word are its "ghosts."
So ... you could think of the 3-letters at the end of a car number plate as a ghost.
let's try one ....
TR 07 STM
What Spanish word might STM be the ghost of ?
I thought of eSTaMpa first..... then coSTuMbre ... then SenTiMiento ....
Let's try another ...... CA 63 CID
Well, ciudad is an obvious one ..... calida
Is there one where the "c" isn't at the start? Are there shorter or longer ones ?
This makes a great in-car game, you can score points with shorter words, but you can also play it in other contexts, getting your random 3 letters from shop signs, road signs, things written on lorries , magazines .....
OK .. having brightened up your SLE (Spanish Learning Experience) , here's the customary music.... it's The New Raemon and " Verdugo" ..... swoony stuff ....
