Here one of them .... some soldiers are singing it ...
Adiós Pamplona,
Pamplona de mi querer
Mi querer.
Adiós Pamplona,
cuándo te volveré a ver.
No me marcho por las chicas
Que las chicas, guapas son,
guapas son.
Me marcho porque me llaman
a defender la Nación.
and here's a rather different version on the internet ...
Adiós Pamplona, Pamplona de mi querer
Adiós Pamplona, cuando te volvere a ver.
No me marcha par las chicas
Que tus chicas guapa son,
Me despido hasta otro año … aupa
Y que sigua el buen humor.
Youtube has various songs etc entitled " Adiós Pamplona" but none of them seems to be that one. There is also, amazingly, a blog of the same name.
Another song we get a snippet of , again sung by soldiers, is this one ....
Y si no se le quitan bailando
los dolores a la tabernera,
y si no se le quitan bailando,
dejáila, déjaila que se muera.
.... which, according to the internet, is called Jota Navarra .....this lot certainly give a spirited rendering of it ....
On the net I found this .... which has bits of the song within it ... and also has the "Pamplona" theme as well... odd !
Molinera, molinera,
no gastes tanto postin. ¡Riau, riau!
Que los mozos de Pamplona
no se peinan para tí ¡Riau, riau!
Y si no se le quitan bailando
los dolores a la tabernera
y si no se le quitan bailando
dejalá que de pena se muera.
The wonders of the internet have brought that little song to our ears, 60 odd years after the story was written....
Then we get just two measly lines of the next one
Si soy como soy y no como tú quieres
qué culpa tengo yo de ser así.
... the internet gives a longer version ....
La letra de "SOY COMO SOY" DICE ASÍ:
Soy como soy
y no como tu quieras,
que culpa tengo yo
de ser así,
si vás a quererme,
quiéreme,
no intentes hacerme
como te venga bien a tí.
No trates de cambiar
mi vida,
yo a tí te quiero,
lo juro por Dios.
Soy como soy
y no como tu quieras,
que culpa tengo yo
de ser así.
Well, there seem to be several songs called Soy como Soy on youtube, but not that one!
So ... to sum up, 1 out of the 3 was brought back to life! I'm not sure if that's a good strike percentage or not. But it's the journey that counts, not the arrival ... maybe.
