There's a radio show called " I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue" ,and one thing the contestants do is, they try to sing one song to the tune of another ... with, of course, hilarious results. Mostly.
Well, the other day I thought I would try it myself ... I was listening to a Spanish song ( Nena Daconte) on a tape in the car... "Tenía tanto que darte" it was ... I switched it off and tried singing the words to various standard tunes .... it worked quite well with " Onward Christian Soldiers" and "I should be so lucky" and " Yellow Submarine" ...
Here's the words if you want to have a try...
Actually, I think that it goes best with " Oh God our help in ages past" (!)
This made me wonder if you could do it with other Spanish songs ... and the answer is .. of course you can. It might not sound quite so whizzo in its new format, but what the hell..... it's a great way to get extra practice with the words. That's my excuse anyway.
But now ... music time ... Mabu ... " En las Alturas ....
